2024 Maison de Madeleine, Sancerre (RT90) The 2024 Sancerre reflects the endless challenges growers faced in this difficult vintage. The pale light golden hue sends up notes of ripe citrus, hints of florals and a decided herbal character that makes me think New Zealand if I was tasting drinking this blind. I find the herbal-ness out of character with the typical Sancerre. The palate is also unusually soft with gentle acidity and a supple finish. This is a drink now and over the next few years style of Sancerre. Drink now-2030(?) Tasted May 2026
