2021 Adelsheim, Chardonnay, Chehalem Mountains, Breaking Ground (RT92+) The 2021 Breaking Ground Chardonnay is fresh and vibrant with penetrating scents of deeply ripe white peach liqueur, lemon zest, citrus blossom, saline infused curd, crème fraiche, and distinct linear minerality. The palate is succulent and built on layers of ripe fruit with superb balance, all giving way to its elegant fresh style that’s more about the fruit and its terroir and less about the winemaking. The finish is long, sustained and precise. This is an outstanding Chardonnay that embodies its honest winemaking style. Crafted from 100% Chehalem Mountains fruit, there is little oak evident, despite being aged in a combination of barrique and 500 liter puncheons, of which 30+% were new.
