2023 Isaac Fernandez, Egeo, Rueda, Verdejo (RT92) Egeo is a pure Verdejo bottling crafted from 60 year-old bush vines grown in the Denominacion of Rueda, Spain where the vineyards are at a lofty elevation of 700 meters. The dirt here is comprised of nutrient-poor alluvial soils comprised of clay, sand and pebbles. Grapes are hand harvested, destemmed to eliminate any bitterness and fermented and aged in stainless tank to preserve freshness. Serves up notes of Meyer lemon zest, white peach, fresh honeysuckle and a wisp of minerality. The palate is mid-weight and delivers a mouth-coating texture, offset by the elegant, fresh acidity.
