2021 Rasa Vineyards, Columbia Valley AVA, Occam’s Razor, Red Blend (RT92) The 2021 Occam’s Razor Red Blends sets a new bar of excellence for this base-bottling. Blending seven varieties: mostly Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah with smaller amounts of Grenache, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Touriga Nacional, and Petit Verdot, it expresses beautifully out of the bottle with more refinement and focus than previous vintages. Aged 19 months in oak, of which only 15% is new, it reveals the mouth texture of cask aging yet shows no toasted oak characteristics. Notes of ripe blackberry, spiced plum, desert scruff and a pinch of spice, this is a heavy weight for the price point that over delivers!
