2022 Karl Lagler, Grüner Veltliner, Burgberg, Federspiel* (RT92) Dating back to 1789, the Lagler family has a storied history of grape growing in the region, but only starting in the 1970s that they began producing wine from their grapes. To this day their wines remain 100% handmade and reflect the attention to detail deserving of their embrace of traditional methods. Mid-range straw with golden accents, notes of lemon zest, white melon, Golden Transparent plum, and waves terroir-driven floral and mineral notes emerge. With time in the glass crushed stones and a honeyed, waxy texture emerges, coating the mouth with irresistible fruit. This is a classic Grüner with a palate that is rich and full of ripe fruit. Quite a lovely glass of wine available in the affordable $20 range and a HOT PICK. Drink now-2028 Tasted April 2024
