The Tvrdoš Monastery is a 15th-century Serbian Orthodox monastery near the city of Trebinje, in Bosnia and Herzegovina, is less than 10 miles off the Adriatic coast, and continues to produce both red and white wines, although the wines are difficult to source stateside.

2020 Monastery Tvrdoš, Herzegovina, Zilavka (RT92) Brilliant pale straw, the aromatically charged Zilavka wafts up notes of white stone fruits, crisp yellow pear, chalky crushed stone and hints of white floral aromas. The mouth texture is linear, pure and focused, is of medium weight, and layered with delicious fruit and buttressed with bright acidity. This is an excellent food wine that pares with light, fresh cheeses and an array of seafood dishes. Drink now-2026+
