2006 Magaña, Navarra, Calchetas (RT92) A mere 5700 bottles of this lovely wine were produced in this vintage. Showing a deep burgundy hue with very little bricking on the rim, it reveals a handsome, deeply fruited bouquet with notes of ripe black cherry, plum, currants and mesmerizing hints of tobacco with an accent of minerality. The palate is lush and fully fruited, with bright acidity and soft, ripe, well integrated tannins. This is now in its prime drinking window, so pull those corks and enjoy if you’re sitting on any. I like this right where it is age-wise, as I suspect continued cellaring will see the fruit begin slowly fade. Drink now-2026
