2019 Scacciadiavoli, Montefalco Rosso (RT92) 2019 is a fine vintage for this affordable Montefalco Rosso. Showing a deep russet hue with hints of garnet at the rim, the style is clean, fresh and focused, dare I say surprisingly elegant which is no doubt from the addition of Merlot. Notes of ripe choke cherry, mocha, orange zest and crushed stones lead to a soft, round mouthfeel. This is an excellent food wine pairing well with grilled meats, salumi and hearty pasta dishes. Another excellent example of this estates fine wines, here the Sangiovese dominated blend is complemented with Sagrantino and Merlot. Offering terrific value, this is a must buy!
