1999 Poggio Antico, Brunello di Montalcino (RT93+) Bought on release and stored in my temp-controlled cellar since, here is a wine that exceeds expectations with a dark, yet translucent visual. On the bouquet a foundation of brambly underbrush is enhanced with spicy red fruit, smoky leather and a hint of iron-laced minerality. Perfectly clean and elegant on the palate with a bright, fresh finish, I like this much more than the ’99 Poggio Antico, Brunello di Montalcino, Altero that I checked- in on a month ago. A finely done Brunello! Drink 2014-2034+
