2019 Castelfeder, Pinot Noir, Glen (RT91+) With a high elevation vineyard source, the grapes for this wine are harvest from a site immediately adjacent to the Grand Cru Mazon, which is producing excellent Pinot Nero. Here the combination of different soil types – clay, limestone and volcanic – produces charismatic Pinot Noir (Nero in locale dialect). The 2019 exemplifies great varietal typicity with notes of red raspberry, strawberry, red cherry, truffle and dried leaves. The palate is soft, round and inviting, working well as a terrific food pairing with grilled meats and sausages, and hearty pasta dishes. Drink now-2026
