1996 Pierre Moncuit, Blanc des Blanc, Grand Cru, Mesnil (RT93) The fully mature, deeply burnished 1996 Moncuit Mesnil is heavily marked with deeply ripe yellow peach, tangerine, almond, brioche, and sweet smoke. This showed very well, as the palate was soft, gentle and sublime with rounded fruit and gentle acidity. I suggest this is at the end of its drinking window, so toast-up now while there’s still something tasty to enjoy. Pull those corks and finish it up now!
