1995 Pol Roger, Brut, Cuvee Sir Winston Churchill (RT95+) This was a bit tight on first pour, but loosened up generously in short order and showed what a stunning tete de cuvee this can be! Now at maturity, well stored bottles will continue to shine well for another decade-plus. 1995 was the 20 year anniversary bottling for this wine. The medium straw hued wine shows a delicate, fine mousse with focused notes of ripe yellow apple, Ranier cherry, marzipan, biscuit and a puff of chalk dust. It balances delicacy and power on the palate, maintaining its freshness from the softer,1995 vintage. Truly lovely stuff. Drink now-2030+
