2015 Castelfeder, Pinot Nero Riserva, Burgum Novum (RT94) One of the finest Pinot Nero’s to have ever graced my lips from Alto Adige, this beauty expression of the variety commonly known as Pinot Noir smacks of a premier Willamette Valley bottling. Expressing a level of concentration rarely seen in Pinot Nero from this region, its convincing focus, depth and dimension and a hint of French oak polish pull it together in a complete, broad shouldered manner. Ripe strawberry, red raspberry, forest floor and hints of cinnamon round out the bouquet, while the palate remains deliciously taunting, with lovely, soft tannins on the finish. This wine is hard to find due to limited production and high demand making it one to seek out. Drink now-2028+
