2016 Castello di Farnetella, Toscana IGT, Lucilla (RT 88) An alluring blend of 70% Sangiovese, 15% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, it is aged for 8-10 months in botti followed by 4-6 months in bottle prior to release. The medium ruby red hue gives way to a terroir-driven bouquet of red pit fruit, black cherry, hints of forest floor and hints of red current. The palate is impressively rich for the price point with a hint of sour cherry on the core, this shows bright acidity and soft tannins. Drink now-2024
