2016 Avignonesi, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano (RT92+) Like its younger vine little brother Rosso, this is also 100% Sangiovese, but here the wine is aged for 18 months in a combination of Slavonian cask, French barrique and Tonneaux, lending far more structure and polish to the wine. The punchy bouquet shows aromas of mentholated cherry, red raspberry, plum, new saddle leather, and hints of Tuscan scruff.
