2006 Terre Nere, Etna Rosso, Feudo di Mezzo, Il Quadro delle Rose (RT96) Over the past decade the evolution of this bottling has been remarkable, evolving from its once fresh red fruit-driven persona to its current terroir-driven bouquet. Dark red and blackberry fruit, damp earth and sous bois, hints of smoke and minerals now dominate. The palate is superbly balanced with soft, seductive fruit, delicious refreshing acidity and well-integrated, soft tannins. The high quality fruit from the great 2006 vintage combined with artful craftsmanship is evident. This is a fine example of the heights Mount Etna Rosso can reach. Now in its early peak drinking window, Marc DeGrazia has really hit his stride with his work at the Terre Nere winery. Drink now-2036
