While the winery dates to 1856, the more modern rendition started in the mid-1980s. By 1993 they were producing 100% estate fruit which all went into their wines. Buying vineyards over time, they acquired some prime parcels in Prapo and Lazzarito. Their focus is on small production, top quality wines, a category they excel in, while maintaining affordable prices.
2016 Germano, Langhe Chardonnay (RT91+) A generous expression that binds hints of oak with the crisp freshness of ripe pear, melon and orchard fruit. The wine reveals a luminous golden color and an enriched texture with glycerin that feels smooth and creamy. The full-bodied texture of this wine could stand up to spicy pork or white meat, or even an appetizer platter of oysters or raw shellfish. Ideal for those who ride the fence between oaked and unoaked Chardonnay. Drink now-2024.
