2000 Cockburns, Vintage Port (RT94) From the solid, but not quite outstanding 2000 vintage, comes this tasty Porto, which is now in its early peak drinking window. Almost opaque with an overall tone of deep ruby russet. As with all Porto, I strongly suggest a full decant to separate off sediment, which even here, at just 23 years of age, was significant. Dark cherry, blackberry, hints of espresso and bittersweet dark chocolate emerge from the glass, marking the mostly secondary aromatic profile with some modest tertiary development. The mouthfeel is rich, round and downright delicious! This has many years ahead and should continue to develop in a positive direction. Drink 2025-2040+
